Nintendo’s latest piece of gaming hardware, the Nintendo Switch Lite, releases on 20th September. We’re looking forward to getting our hands on one when that day eventually comes, but it appears that one lucky fan already has one sitting at home.

Twitter user David Reed has shared the following messages online, noting that he managed to pick up a Switch Lite early from a Walmart store in Rockmart, Georgia. The video below appears to show the console loading up for the very first time, with the familiar Switch ‘click’ and a language option being shown on screen.

It’s always wise to be sceptical of people who claim to have products like this early, but the video above sure looks to be the real deal. It helps that Reed has shared a copy of his receipt online, too.

Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time that a retailer has broken the street date for a product. While most major retailers will have systems in place to prevent this sort of thing from happening, errors do occur from time to time and we’ve heard plenty of stories where certain stores have purposefully allowed early sales of top games.

We can’t all be this lucky, but if you are wanting to pick up your own Switch Lite, we have a lovely guide full of the best places to buy right here.
